At the age of 11, Margaret Taylor switched from being a state representative athlete to classical ballet training.
Margaret completed her schooling at the Pretoria Art, Ballet and Music School where she concentrated on classical ballet. She completed her advanced examinations in both the RAD and Cecchetti methods. She was trained by Diana Ward, Susan Oosthuisen, Ken Yeatman, Vicki Karras, Gillian Joubert and Jane Allyn.
After her schooling she completed a performing arts degree before joining the PACT Ballet Company in South Africa. During her time at the ballet company she worked with world renowned choreographers and shared the stage with international artists. Margaret has danced in many ballets. Her favourites include: Swan Lake, Giselle, Anna Karenina, War and Peace, Romeo and Juliet, Papillon, In the Glow of the Night, Coppelia, Scheherazade, Don Quixote and La Fille Mal Gardee.
Margaret later left the ballet company and completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree culminating in a qualification as a Chartered Accountant. Margaret has always maintained her love of classical ballet and has attended class regularly through the years. Margaret now divides her week between work as a Chartered Accountant and sharing her love, experience and passion for dance by teaching and training aspiring dancers.
