Amy Macris started dancing in her home town of Batemans Bay at the age of 11, training in Cecchetti ballet and contemporary, interspersed with Vaganova ballet whilst living in Colorado for the winters.
Amy attended summer schools with both the McDonald College in
Sydney and Dance Masterclass in Spain, and loves finding a dance class (or ten) wherever she travels (such as New York!).
Amy has been teaching at CDT since 2015 and loves the opportunity to share the joy of dancing with her students and to make dance as inclusive as possible. Amy has a newfound love for classical Indian dance, and has performed in a Kuchipudi piece in Ausdance ACT’s Escalate program.
Outside of dance, Amy is a qualified Occupational Therapist.
