Jacqueline Simmonds MA BA came to CDT after serving with distinction at the Australian College of Physical Education as the Course Convenor, Bachelor of Applied Dance, and the Associate Dean, Students and Services. Before that, Jacqueline established and managed the dance program at University of Western Sydney, so she is well known to many professional dancers.
Focusing on contemporary dance practice, Jacqui has taught technique, composition and pedagogy. Her past contributions to the dance community include member of the exam committee, NSW Board of Studies; chair of the Tertiary Dance Council of Australia; chair of the NSW Ministry for the Arts’ Dance Committee; and president of Ausdance NSW. Jacqui is also a qualified Iyengar yoga teacher. Her yoga practice and her training in the Feldenkrais Method support her ongoing exploration of somatics.
