Melissa Fawke began her dance training with Canberra Dance Development Centre, studying dance there for 12 years in a multitude of styles, including 4 years in their Part and Full-time programs. Wanting to try other dance syllabus styles, she transitioned to Classical Ballet Centre and trained in the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for Ballet, and Imperial society of teachers of dance syllabus in Modern. Melissa completed her Grade 8, Intermediate and Advanced 1 Ballet examinations in August of 2015. Melissa trained at MAKS ballet studios for the next two years, completing her Advanced 2 Ballet examination with a Distinction, qualifying for and competing in the Genee International Ballet Competition held in December of 2016. Melissa currently teaches Ballet, Strength and Jazz classes at Dance Development Centre, and Ballet to the competitive gymnasts at Elementz Rhythmic Gymnastics, as well as teaching Private Ballet lessons to a student with Cerebral Palsy in her spare time. Melissa’s interests lie in teaching and choreography, and she hopes to take on choreographic projects in the future. Melissa is also currently studying at the Australian National University, working towards a Bachelor of Languages.
