Kate Levy

Guest Teacher - Contemporary

Kate is an accomplished dancer and performer who has trained and worked in a wide range of styles, with a focus on contemporary and classical ballet. She began dancing at the age of seven at the Northern Districts School of Ballet in Sydney, and completed full-time training at David Atkins’ Dynamite Dance Studios, culminating in her selection as a finalist in the City of Sydney Classical Ballet Scholarship in 1992.

After graduating, Kate embarked on a career as a contemporary dancer, which kept her busy with national and international touring. She has worked with several companies and choreographers, including Garry Stewart, Chunky Move, One Extra Dance Company, Opera Australia, Rosetta Cook, Kim Itoh, Bernadette Walong and James Taylor. Kate has been living and working in Canberra since 2006. She is delighted to found an opportunity to maintain her passion for dance through her association with the Canberra Dance Theatre.
